About

I'm a product-minded full-stack software engineer specializing in .NET and Ruby on Rails. I build software with an eye on the business problem it solves — a mindset shaped by two decades of building and running businesses before I formalized my engineering career.

I taught myself to code early on: Linux administration, relational database design, and eventually web development in Ruby on Rails. Even during my years in product and business management, I was shipping internal tools and applications. Building has always been what I do.

In 2016, I moved from Fortaleza, Brazil to Vancouver, Canada to study at Capilano University and deepen my understanding of the North American business environment, culture, and language—with an eye toward possibly making Canada my permanent home. I earned a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in North American Business Management (Dean’s List ×2, Merit List) in 2018, complementing my existing MBAs and Master’s degree. I became a permanent resident of Canada in 2021 and a Canadian citizen in 2025.

The career pivot into software engineering came in 2019, when I joined PressReader as a Ruby on Rails developer and later transitioned to .NET Core. I also volunteer as a Ruby on Rails developer at Linkvan.ca, a nonprofit focused on poverty alleviation.

I hold a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification and speak Portuguese (native) and English (full professional proficiency).
